THE COAL to Coast Festival will be held at Sarina Showgrounds, Queensland between 19 and 20 September 2009.

The Regional Economic Development Corporation (REDC) and Australian Industry Group and Careers Advice are co-ordinating a Mining Industry Careers Expo to be held at the festival.

Free-entry is available for the coal games, careers expo and rides held on 19 September 2009 between 10am to 4pm.

The careers expo is designed to showcase the many exciting career opportunities available in the mining and mining-related industries.

The focus of the expo will be providing hands-on, interactive experiences that provide locals with an authentic taste of what it’s like to work in the mining industry, which results in far greater preparedness and interest in applying for positions within mining and mining-related industries.

Exhibitors will include Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, G&S Engineering, CQUniversity, Peabody Energy Australia, Xstrata and North Queensland Bulk Ports Corp.
