Siemens to supply equipment to Chinese coal mine

SIEMENS will supply a Chinese coal mine with equipment for its new shaft winding installations.

The electrical engineering giant will provide the Shandong Yuncheng coal mine with drives, braking and automation systems for the new winding machines.

Each of the machines will be fitted with a 3500kW synchronous motor and have link voltage converters with an output of 10MVA.

Installations for the $17m project are expected to commence in 2010.
