CSIRO releases structural geology of Bowen Basin to aid coal miners

THE CSIRO has released the 2008 structural geology of the Bowen Basin, Queensland.

The group claims the key to the new interpretation is the integration of geophysical and geological datasets.

The map provides a new geological interpretation of the Bowen Basin which is said to hold the state’s richest source of coal and coal seam gas.
