BUCYRUS has signed a contract with BHP Billiton to supply a new walking dragline for use in its Australian mines.
According to the company, the 8750 dragline will provide the best solution for its long-term production requirements.
The walking dragline weighs in at 6613t and is able to carry 106 cubic metres of material with a rated suspended load capacity of 354t.
The machine will be used in BHP’s Australian mines to move overburden in coal mining operations.
Bucyrus CEO, Tim Sullivan, says the model is one of the largest operating in the world today, and has been increasingly adopted for use in Australian mines.
